The Guardian Valve Controller is recommended for indoor use. In the coming months, we will be releasing a protective case to be used with the Valve Controller for outdoor installations. Please check our website regularly for new product releases.
In the meantime, some of our customers have installed the unit outdoors using their own protective covers/housings. If indoor installation is not possible, make sure to protect the guardian valve controller against direct water contact, humidity and direct sun exposure. Also, make sure to use outdoor rated power outlets with protective cover for the included power supply. Damage due to exposure to the above elements could void your warranty.
Although the splash-proof housing on the Valve Controller is effective at preventing rain from reaching, excessive humidity and/or condensation buildup inside of the unit could lead to internal damage and potentially void your warranty.
